At Flechas Architecture we strive to promote environmental, social and economic responsibility with our buildings. Our goal is to create spaces that connect people to their community and effectively use our increasingly scarce natural resources; spaces that are sustainable, affordable and inclusive.
We believe that simple solutions represent the real meaning of green. Our designs minimize the environmental impact of construction and maintenance while maximizing the positive social and economic impact. Focusing on low energy design, we create buildings that go beyond LEED standards and incorporate principles of the Passive House Institute.
A truly sustainable building is also affordable. With a long-term mindset, our work doesn't sacrifice high quality and value for lower costs. Improving social conditions and bringing forth positive social change is a goal we strive for. Our work process encourages the collaboration between the client and the community.

Services
We design high-performance buildings that align with the values of our forward-thinking clients. Striving to design at the highest quality standards available, we are one of the few architecture firms certified by the International Passive House Institute in Canada. Passive House certified buildings create savings on energy costs by harvesting sunlight, retaining heat, and supporting flexible uses.
This building is aiming to become the first Passive House certified commercial building in Alberta, and the first Passive House Plus commercial building in the world. With a vision of becoming a leader in environmental responsibility, in 2017 the Town of Valleyview appointed our firm to the Valleyview Town Hall project.
Our goal with the Pender Harbour Residence was to accommodate and enhance the comfort and activities of our client, all while integrating the house into the landscape, respecting the site's conditions, and achieving high energy efficiency levels. With a majestic view to the harbour, indoor-outdoor integration was a key component of our design program.
The implementation of Passive House principles complements the owners' commitment to sustainable food production and development. After completing the Chilcotin Harvest project, the Schellenhbergs commissioned our team to design another facility in their Redstone property: the KiNiKiNiK restaurant and store.
