I once asked them to design duct system for my old house. They asked me to provide them the floor plan, the elevation and the cross-section info of the house, the wall insulation values, the R-value of my window, the furnace model and its BTU, bathroom exhaust fan info, air exchanger info, and etc. They told me that they will use those data as input to their computer software to get an output, and give it to me as their HVAC design. What a GIGO (garbage in and garbage out) process! They explained to me that their design is really and only taking care of the size of my duct system. My duct contractor
