Ring Electric is proud to have won a 2021 HomeStars Best of Award for Electricians in Ottawa! We are a family-owned medium-sized electrical business, based in Ottawa, that specializes in rewiring older homes to make them safe, more functional, and more energy efficient. All of our work is performed by our professional licensed electricians and registered apprentices and exceeds the standards set out by the Ontario Electrical Safety Authority.
We are committed to ensuring 100% customer satisfaction and are proud of what our customers have said about our work. We are also proud of our A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Ring Electric owner Bryan Verhulp looks back on 15 years of serving the Ottawa area at the head of his family-owned business with gratitude.
Even though his passion for his company is obvious to his clients today (earning Ring Electric HomeStar's "Best of" award for the past six years) Bryan didn't think he would one day own his own electrical business when he joined the Royal Canadian Navy as an electrician in 1981.

Home and Commercial Renovations
Report
Adding on to your Ottawa home, remodeling a kitchen, or finishing your basement can often involve tying into electrical circuits - not a straightforward project. The age of the home and the existing wiring will determine if additional wiring can be mixed with the old or if new circuits will be required.
Rewiring Residential Multiplexes
Report
At Ring Electric, we can accommodate large residential electrical projects. These include multiplexes, low-rise apartments and multi-dwelling units. Whether you are adding units, or renovating a unit or the entire building, we can help you with all of your electrical needs. Larger residential projects like these require experience, enough electricians to do the job, and attention to detail.
Replacing Knob and Tube Wiring
Report
Knob and tube wiring was the standard way in which homes were electrically wired from about 1880 to the 1940s; many homes in older, established areas in Ottawa still have knob and tube wiring. It consists of single insulated copper wiring that runs within wall or ceiling cavities. This wiring passes through joist and stud drill-holes via protective porcelain insulating tubes, and is supported by nailed-down porcelain knob insulators.
